The Fratellis + Toploader (Rock the Castle 2017)
Best known for their infectious Top Ten hit Chelsea Dagger, now played constantly in bars, clubs and at global sports events, The Fratellis shot to fame in 2006 with their debut album Costello Music, which spent a mammoth 83 weeks in the Top 100 of the UK charts, and included some well-known hits such as Henrietta and Whistle For The Choir. The album propelled the band past the likes of The Kooks, James Morrison and Lily Allen to win the Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act in 2007, and has made them a firm festival favourite from T in the Park to Glastonbury.
Since then, the band have toured the world, released three more albums, in typically vibrant and tune-rich Fratellis style, the latest, Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied released in 2015, reached #16 in the charts and includes Baby Don’t You Lie To Me, a glam tune with ineffably Fratellis-shaped swagger.
Just back from their sell-out tour of the UK celebrating the 10th anniversary of Costello Music, The Fratellis are now ready to rock Pembroke Castle!
Joining The Fratellis will be Toploader, one of the definitive bands of the early ‘00s, and responsible for the global hit Dancing in the Moonlight. Household name Toploader have over two million album sales to their name and a string of top 20 hits both at home and abroad. Their debut album, Onka’s Big Moka, sold over one million copies and remained in the Top 5 of the UK album chart for over six months, earning them 4 Brit Award nominations. The 2000 single Dancing in the Moonlight spent over a year in the European Airplay Charts, and in 2013, the same track re-entered the Top 40 for three weeks and topped the 10,000,000 hits mark on Youtube, an incredible 13 years after it was first released, cementing it as one of the biggest songs of recent times. The band will be releasing their highly anticipated fourth album, Seeing Stars, just two months before they rock Pembroke.
WE-ARE-Z are a quirky Anglo-French concoction of indie-pop, disco-punk, glam-rock, bound together with a Mighty Boosh-esque mix of hot pink, feather boas, and animal masks. Hot off a successful 25 date European tour supporting Electric 6 of Gay Bar and Danger! High Voltage fame, WE-ARE-Z make up part of a not-to-be-missed Friday night line-up. Want to hear their stuff? Check out their debut album, Animal, which was released last year, and listen out for one of their songs being played in the popular CBS series, Criminal Minds.
The night will be kicked off by unsigned Pembrokeshire three-piece modern rock band, Vicetrack. Formed in 2014, the band is comprised of Josh, Christian, and Jamie, whose innovative rock sound incorporates electronic dance beats to provide a pumping atmosphere with catchy hooks in their live performances.
Friday’s concert will be an electric start to the Rock the Castle weekend, which also features The Bootleg Beatles supported by The Bootleg Beach Boys on the Saturday, and the live stage performance of Horrible Histories: The Best of Barmy Britain on the Sunday.

If you are coming to the Castle, please ensure that you arrive in plenty of time to pass through our enhanced security checks. Our security and stewarding teams are there for your safety. Please cooperate fully with all security personnel.
